THE LONDON CHRONICLE, England, Aug 21, 1787 Page 6 has a report noting in part: "...some important revolution is on the eve of taking place in the American system. Shays and his party, of themselves, do not appear of sufficient consequence to excite any well-grounded apprehensions in the friends of the actual government; they their insurrection s considered by many as preparatory to some other measure of greater import..." with a bit more on this.
Also: "Rhode Island is the only state which has not sent delegates to the convention at Philadelphia. Of the proceedings of this body nothing has yet transpired."
