THE LONDON CHRONICLE, England, Jan. 20, 1784 The front page has a report noting, from New York: "...the inhabitants have received assurance from Congress that if they behave quiet & peaceable & are obedient to the laws of the United States for the future, no more prosecutions will be entered against the Loyalists, but they shall enjoy the same rights, privileges, and protection as if they had never been in a state of rebellion against the United States, which assurances have restored peace and good order in that city."
