THE BOSTON EVENING-POST, Massachusetts, May 31, 1773 The front page has various news including the inscription on the pedestal for a statue of Lord Botetourf going to Virginia from England.
Page 2 has a report on the meeting of the Mass. Assembly in which Sam Adams was selected to be the Clerk. A list of elected Assemblymen includes John Adams, John Hancock, William Brattle, and Artemas Ward among others. Further reports on the Mass. Assembly as well.
Page 3 has a very nice report from the Virginia House of Burgesses concerning efforts to confront the growing problems with England, noting in part: "...this House is fully sensible of the necessity and importance of a union of the several colonies in America at a time when it clearly appears that the rights and liberties of all are systematically invaded..." and what follows is a list of Resolves, which includes: "That a standing Committee of Correspondence & Enquiry be appointed..." among others.
Page 4 is entirely taken up with ads.
The masthead features a very ornate engraving (printing crease thru the middle) which makes this a displayable issue.
Four page, slightly irregular at the spine from disbinding, nice condition.
