THE PIONEER, San Jose, California, June 21, 1879 The masthead notes: "Devoted To The Interests Of The Pioneers of California And the Resources of the Golden State." The masthead is one of the more graphic we have seen, featuring three vignettes: one of settlers traveling, one of a bear, and another of a detailed mining scene.
This title is not recorded in Gregory's "Union List of Newspapers".
Four pages, good condition but a bit fragile so it should be handled carefully.
