PROGRESS, "A Mirror For All Men And Women", Philadelphia, Aug. 20, 1881 The front page features a nice print of: "The Coming Cotton Exposition at Atlanta, Georgia" with a descriptive article carrying over to page 2.
Page 3 has: "President Arthur" beginning: "The apprehension that President Garfield could to survive...has become almost a certainty, and as Progress goes to press we face the fact that Chester A. Arthur will probably be President of the United States...".
This would prove true: Garfield died on August 19.
Sixteen pages, 10 1/2 by 14 1/2 inches, library stamp in the masthead, nice condition.
