* Reverend Samuel Johnson found guilty of seditious libel - rebellion
* Among the earliest of English language newspapers to be had

The back page has a report from Westminster noting: "This day Samuel Johnson was brought to tryal at the King's Bench-Bar upon an information of High Misdemeanor, for writing and publishing two scandalous and seditious libels, to excite and stir up His Majesties subjects to sedition and rebellion, and upon a full evidence was found guilty of the same by a jury of gentlemen of the county of Surrey."
Note: This was Samuel Johnson the pamphleteer. This Samuel Johnson was an English clergyman and political writer, sometimes called "the Whig" to distinguish him from the author and lexicographer of the same name. He is one of the best known pamphlet writers who developed Whig resistance theory.
