The top of the front page has a four column headline: "U.S. WARSHIPS ENTER BAY BELOW TOKYO WHEN TYPHOONS DELAY OUR LANDINGS" with subheads and related photo. Coverage on the initial occupation Japan with the United States Navy entering Sagami Bay. The official signing of surrender would take place a few days later on board the USS Missouri. Always nice to have notable events in history reported in this World famous publication.
