This newspaper is one of the few illustrated newspapers of that time (the famed Harper's Weekly didn't start until 1857).  This particular issue has the following woodcuts :  March - Sultan of Turkey - Emperor Nicholas - Elevated Railroad on Broadway - South Amboy, NJ - Talullah Falls GA - Tarrytown, NY 
The woodcuts in these issues give the public a sense of what was going on around America at the time. and more. There is text as well along with these prints.
