August 19, 1789
THE MASSACHUSETTS CENTINEL, Boston, Aug. 19, 1789  The bottom of the front page has a report reading: "...brings a report of the assassination of J. Paul Jones by a British officer to the Russian naval service; but we can collect no particulars of the horrid transaction...". It would prove untrue as he would live another 3 years.
Page 3 has reports from the "House of Representatives of the United States" which includes a list of "The Bills" being considered, among which are: "For allowing compensations to the President and Vice-President" and: "The salaries of the executive officers" and more.. These Congress discussions are from just months after it first met.
Four pages, bit of staining to the front page, and very slightly close-trimmed at the top of page 1 only, nice condition.
