July 04, 1789
THE MASSACHUSETTS CENTINEL, Boston, July 4, 1789  A great issue as one-third of the front page is taken up with: "Remarks on the First Part of the Amendments to the Federal Constitution, Moved on the 8th inst., in the House of Representatives". Included are specific references to various amendments, such as: "The first article, pursuing the republican spirit with which the Convention of 1787 designed to animate...declares in the most unequivocal terms, that all power is the exclusive right of the people...". "The second article provides for a lager representation of the people than the present number...". "The next article establishes religious liberty and all those political rights...". "The following paragraph declares the freedom of the press to be a main bulwark of liberty..." and much more. Great discussion from the early period of creating a Bill of Rights, not to be concluded for several months.
Four pages nice condition.
