THE BOSTON GAZETTE & COUNTRY JOURNAL, Feb. 24, 1772  The prime features of this issue is the engraving in the masthead. Not only is it a nice political statement--showing the dove of peace being set free from its "cage" by the Liberty figure with the skyline of Boston in the background--but it was engraved by Paul Revere.
Nearly two-thirds of the front page is taken up with a great letter concerning the drilling instructions and practices of the military. A few bits near the beginning: "...I was led to reflect on the present state of the Militia of this province & the practice in general on Training-days...As to regimental musters, they are entirely out of fashion, so shall not be able to give you an account of them..." with much more, seen in the photos.
NOTE: This is the front leaf only. The back leaf is lacking. A nice item for display with the Revere engraving and the great, military-themed report on the front page. Priced dramatically less than a full issue.
Wide, untrimmed margins, minor toning at the extremities, a few small, discrete archival mends to margins on the back page, very nice condition.
