Page 2 has over half a column of reporting with news headed: "America" includes items from Newport, Boston, Phila., and New York, topics including the raising of revenue in the colonies, and a note that: "...Major Rogers is carried to Montreal for trial of the crimes laid to his charge." Also a lengthy report from Boston being a lengthy complaint by those from Boston of Governor Francis Bernard, noting: "...complain of the administration of his Excellency Francis Bernard...has treated the representative body with contempt...he has endeavoured to persuade your Majesty's ministers to believe that...a plan was settled...& the rest of your colonies, treasonably to withdraw themselves from all connection with & dependence upon Great Britain...." with more complaints (see). A notable & very early reference to the colonies seeking independence from England.
