THE DETROIT FREE PRESS, September 7, 1919 (from the Rotogravure Section)
* 1919 noteworthy female golfers
* Mrs. Melvin Jones, Mrs. David Gaut, Madge Miller, and more

Four pages (2 leaves) from the authentic Rotogravure Section has a full-page assortment of photos of noteworthy female golfers from 1919, who were participating in the Western Championship, held in Detroit during August of 1919. The many photos include close-up shots of Madge Miller, Mrs. David Gaut, and Mrs. Melvin Jones (formerly Miss Rose Amanda Freeman), whose husband, Melvin Jones, was the founder of the Lions Club International, and was the first self-proclaimed "golf widower." This page would look great framed. Also included are additional photos of noteworthy events of the period, including photos of the well-known actors, politicians, and events.
The pages are very fragile, slightly rough left margin with margin flaking, but all described photos & prints are in good condition (see images). Measures approximately 21 by 16 inches.
