The front page has over two columns taken up with: "Interesting Intelligence from Texas" which begins: "...gratifying intelligence that the people of Texas, in convention assembled...give their unqualified assent to the r-union of that fair country to the parent stem. The the declaration of our independence, the resolutions of union were enrolled upon parchment..." with more. This was the annexation of Texas to the Union, with Texas formally becoming a state in December. There is a wealth of other Texas-related content as well (see for portions).
