THE LIBERATOR, Boston, Dec. 16, 1859  This is the famous anti-slavery newspaper by William Lloyd Garrison, featuring a terrific masthead with 3 vignettes including a slave auction and slaves being emancipated (see). The ftpg. has: "A Defence of the Memory of John Brown" "Brown's Letter to His Wife" signed by him in type: John Brown; "Southern Sentiments In Regard to John Brown" "The North & the South" "The Union Dissolved!" "A Woman's Letter to John Brown". More on John Brown inside.
