The front page has a small heading: "A Great Swimming Feat--Capt. Webb Crosses The Channel". Report from London, and one from Calais stating: "Capt. Webb arrived here at 11 0' clock this morning in good health and spirits....The passage from Dover occupied twenty-one hours and forty minutes." 1st report coverage on Matthew Webb becoming the 1st person to swim the English without the help of artificial aids.

Other news of the day. Complete in 8 pages, very minor margin wear, a bit pulpish at the edges, otherwise good condition.
