* Anti-Catholic riots
Near the back is a report headed: "Riot At Charlestown" in Massachusetts, which takes over a full page on what is known as the Ursuline Convent Riots in what is now Somerviille. During the riot a convent of Roman Catholic Ursuline nuns was burned down by a Protestant mob (see hyperlink for details).
There is also a lengthy article on: "The New Gold Coin". Sixteen pages, 6 by 9 1/2 inches, very nice condition.
This small size newspaper began in 1811 and was a prime source for national political news of the first half of the 19th century. As noted in Wikipedia, this title: "...(was) one of the most widely-circulated magazines in the United States...Devoted primarily to politics...considered an important source for the history of the period."
