A very famous Confederate title from the city where the Civil War began, with the bombing of Fort Sumter less than 7 month prior. The front page includes: "Important News from the North" "Another Usurpation" "Progress of the Border Campaign" "Resignation of Gen. Walker" "The Report of the Battle of Manassas Not to be Published--Sailing of the Big Yankee Fleet--Seward & Lyons--Northern Pressure for Reconstruction..." and more. Also: "By the President--A Proclamation" for a day of fasting, humiliation & prayer, signed in type: Jefferson Davis. Other smaller war-related items as well.
Page 2 has more war-related items including: "Abraham's Fleet", two notices headed: "The Confederate States of America..." and more. The back page has much as well including: "Notes Of The War" "The Great Armada--Latest Accounts of Its Movements--Gen. Complete in four pages, never bound nor trimmed so with wide margins, a small archival mend to page 2 from a pre-printing tear, very nice condition.
