AMERICAN MERCURY, Hartford, Connecticut, May 3, 1813 A ftpg. "Resolution" from the Congress requests the President to present medals to Captain Bainbridge and the officers of the frigate Constitution for their "gallantry, good conduct and service" in the capture of the Java. The resolve was approved and signed in type: James Madison. Also within the issue are additional war reports and a variety of advertisements.
Complete in four pages, never bound or trimmed, with a little lite rubbing and very lite scattered foxing, an eagle in the masthead, otherwise in very good condition.
