September 19, 1873
BETHLEHEM DAILY TIMES, Pennsylvania, a pair of issues dated September 19 & 20, 1873

* 1873 Wall Street panic
* Early stock market - New York City

The September 19 issue has at the top of pg. 2: "Failure of Jay Cooke & Col." which begins: "The banking houses of Jay Cook & Co. in this city, New York & Washington, suspended yesterday...". It was this failure which created the severe financial panic in America which resulted in a depression which lasted for 6 years.  The September 20 issue has at the top of pg. 2: "The Financial Panic" which takes almost an entire column (see for portions).
Both issues are complete in 4 pages and in nice condition.
