Articles include a continued: "Debate on the second Reading of the Bill for Prohibiting all Intercourse with the Colonies in Rebellion" which takes over a full page, and is part of a larger article headed: "Account of the Proceedings of the American Colonists Since the Passing of the Boston Port Bill" which also has some good reports on the British evacuating Boston, mentioning that: "...from Boston leaves it no longer doubtful that the King's troops are removed from that city. The retreat was foreseen & foretold several months ago..." and: "...Long Island...as the only spot in America for carrying on the war with effect against the rebels, is certainly worthy of notice.." including some description of Long Island, mentioning that "...Suffolk Co. (has) all good & loyal subjects...". Also included is a report headed: "Philadelphia, in Congress, March 4, 1776" concerning the removal of restraints for the importation of British items, as well as a report headed: "Resolutions of the American Congress in Full Assembly" which includes: "...The command of the Provincial army at New York has been conferred to Gen. Schuyler. Dr. Franklin has resigned his seat in the Assembly of Pennsylvania..." and much more (see for portions).
This issue also includes the very nice foldout map of Cambridge, England, as it was in the 16th century (see photos), measuring 8 1/2 by 10 inches and in great condition. This is the only plate called for.
Complete in 48 pages with a full title/contents page featuring an engraving of St. John's Gate & measures 5 by 8 1/4 inches. Very nice, clean condition.
