FLAKE'S DAILY BULLETIN, Galveston, Texas, April 3, 1868 An uncommon to find Texas newspapers from shortly after the Civil War. Page four contains an article "Capital Punishment in Texas" which is a referencing a scheduled execution of Sam Johnson, a negro man for the murder of his fellow, but part of the article is questioning "...it is wrong to begin with a freedman..." Page two contains coverage on "The Erie Railroad War". Other news events and ads on the front page, and with much more on the inside pages, some relating to Reconstruction.
Complete in 8 pages, scattered, light damp staining some small worm holes throughout. There is small tear in the lower right margin.
