THE SHAKER MANIFESTO, Shaker Village, New Hampshire, January, 1878 This was the "Official Monthly" published by the "United Societies".
This issue contains a Shaker-themed coverage on "The Source of Happiness", "Original Sin", "Christian Culture", "The New Year", "The Dignity of Humanity", "Procrastination", etc.
Also included is a recipe for Unleavened Bread, a commentary on "The Lord's Prayer", and the words and music to "Christian Pilgrim Do Not Falter", by John Bunyan.
Has much additional Shaker-related content, some topical reports, & a few ads. Octavo-size, 24 pages. A library stamp is on the front page, and a frough margin in a few places, but overall very good (see images).
