This was the "Gazette Of The Regular & Volunteer Forces" as printed in the masthead.The lead article on the front page is headed: "The Campaign in South Carolina" and begins: ":Glorious news once more from Sherman's Department thrills the country. The Babylon of rebellion has fallen! Meanwhile, Sherman's triumphal march Richmondward continues..." with much more taking the entire front page & with subhead: "The Fall of Charleston".
There is a tremendous amount of war reporting inside, including over a full page on: "General Johnston's Report of the Atlanta Campaign" and also: "Sherman's Last Campaign" and a lengthy list of military promotions.
Sixteen pages, great condition.
