This was a white-supremacist newspaper from the Civil War, self-described by its publisher on page 5 as: "...an independent, Democratic journal holding, with the late Senator Douglas, that this Government is made on the white basis, by white men, for the benefit of white men & their posterity forever..." (see).
This issue has various war-related reports not only on the front page (see photos) but also on the inside pages. Complete in 8 pages, some wear at folds, some browning, never bound nor trimmed.
