November 25, 1865
HARPER'S WEEKLY, New York, Nov. 25, 1865  Certainly the prime feature of this illustrated newspaper is the very nice three-quarter page print captioned: "Champion Nine of the Atlantic Base-Ball Club of Brooklyn, L.I., 1865" showing named prints of each of the baseball players. There is a brief article on them as well titled: "The Atlantic Base-Ball Club."
Other prints within this issue include a ftpg. print of the: "Inauguration of the Monument Dedicated to the Fallen Heroes of Erie County, at Girard, Pennsylvania."as well as a small print of the: "Birth Place of Lt. General Grant at Point Pleasant, Ohio" on the front page.
A full page is taken up with 3 prints captioned: "Excursion to the Oil Regions of Pennsylvania--leaving Schaffer for Pit Hole City" , "Reno, The Future Metropolis of the Pennsylvania Oio Region" & "Pit Hole City  Venango County, Pennsylvania" with related text.
A fullpg. has: "The Balloon Bridal Party Starting on its Aerial Tour from Prof. Lowe's Ampitheatre, Central Park" with an inset of the trio.
A fullpg. has 2 prints: "Execution of Captain Henry Wirz--Adjusting the Rope" and "Execution of Wirz--Lowering the Body". Two smaller & related prints are on the next page: "Execution of Wirz--The Old Capitol Prison, Washington, D.C." and "Members of the Press Awaiting the Execution of Wirz".
Complete in 16 pages, a bit of brown spotting, generally very nice condition.
