* From the Southern point of view
Has "Confederate States Of America" in the masthead which is rarely seen on Southern newspapers from the Civil War.
Has all ads and notices on the front page War content on pg. 2 includes a "Proclamation by the President" concerning "Alien Enemies", signed in type: Jefferson Davis (see). Following the proclamation are the "Regulations Respecting Alien Enemies". Page 2 also has a report about "The Confederate Navy And Marine Corps" which lists the appointments and promotions confirmed by the Congress. Some minor reports as well.
Page 3 has war reports in the first column, and in the next column a notice offering a reward for several deserters from Company I of the 7th Regiment State Troops. Another notice offers a "Five Hundred Dollars Reward" for a runaway "...negro man Bill Wanet..." wanted for murder. There is also a notice concerning a jailed "...Negro man who calls himself Willis..." that includes an engraving of a runaway. The bkpg. has all ads and notices.
Four pages, issue is in very good condition.
