THE LONDON GAZETTE, England, October 29, 1745 Within this issue are several letters which make reference to the Jacobite Rebellion and the dangers of "popery" coming back to the United Kingdom (see photos for portions). One report includes: "...Letters from Berwick of the 25th advise that the last accounts they had of the Rebels were, that they still gave out they intended to match Southward; but that in the mean time they had marked out a strong camp west of Dalkeith about four miles south from Edinburgh..." with more (see).
Complete in 12 pages, measures 7 1/2 by 11 1/2 inches, some scattered word underlining throughout, otherwise in very good condition. This also contains a full red ink-stamp on the front page and a partial stamp on an inside page.
