THE PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER, May 10, 1865 Half of the first column on the front page is taken up with very nice headlines concerning the end of the Civil War and the trial of the assassins of Abraham Lincoln, including: "PEACE !" "Hostilities Declared At An End!" "Restoration of the Federal Authority Throughout the Land" "Trial of The Assassins!" "Official Order of the President" "The Last Rebel Chief Caves In" "Dick Taylor Surrenders His Entire Army!" "Jeff. Davis' Escape Impossible" and more (see photos) with the entire front page taken up with related text on the end of the war, etc. Complete in 8 pages, never bound nor trimmed, some browning at folds to the top half of the ftpg. only.
