Pg. 2 has a report: ...The last stone of the Canal, from Lake Champlain to [the] Hudson River, was laid by Gov. Clinton, on the 28th. ult. On this route are 46 mile of artificial and 15 1/2 of improved natural navigation.--There are 21 locks. The work...commenced June 10th, 1818... no canal of the same dimensions was ever completed in so short a time. Other news of the day includes: "The President's Message", "Fire", and more.
