April 16, 1791
GAZETTE OF THE UNITED STATES, Philadelphia, April 16, 1791 The back
page of this issue has the text of the Resolution which established the
Mint of the United States. This resolution, along with two other
resolutions in the same column, are each signed in type: John Adams,
George Washington and Thomas Jefferson. Nice woodcut of an eagle and
shield, and "Congress Of The United States" at the top of the column.
Also a letter to the President from the faculty of St. Johns College in
Annapolis, with his gracious reply signed in type: G. Washington.
A bit of wear at the edges with a few minor edge tears, nothing
coming close to text, generally in very nice condition. A key issue. 4
pages.
