NEW HAMPSHIRE PATRIOT & STATE GAZETTE, Concord, May 2, 1836 Page 2 has some very fine content on page 2 concerning the Texas war for indepedence, with more than a full column of detailed text headed: "TEXAS" with various subheads and some of the text including an item on Goliad which includes: "The news from Texas is very contradictory...on the one hand...stated...the Mexicans had been repulsed in their attack on Goliad with the loss of 300 killed...on the other, that Col. Fanning & his 450 men who garrisoned the fort had all been slaughtered..." with several more conflicting reports concerning the historic battle of Goliad (see photos), including one beginning: "The latest advices confirm, we think, the distruction of Col. Fanning & his men, over 400 in number, who had garrisoned the fort at Goliad...". Be sure to see the photos below which give the complete text, as it is too lengthy for me to give all the interesting tidbits here--a great issue!  Complete in 4 pages, one minor tear not affecting the Texas content & causing no loss of readability, otherwise in very nice, clean condition.
