MIDDLESEX GAZETTE, Middletown, Conn., May 25, 1825 A page 2 report from the Millidgeville Recorder says in part:
"We stop the press to announce the distressing intelligence of the murder of the Indian Chief William McIntosh, and the Chief of Cowetau, Tustunnagee Tomme....The murder was perpetrated...by a large body Indians....There is too much reason to fear that white men were the instigators..." Additional details in a second report. Non-archival reinforcement along the fold on page 2, otherwise in good condition.
