HARPER'S WEEKLY, New York, Jan. 6, 1894  The front page has a half page illustration to the story "Pembroke". Inside the issue is nearly half page "The Mounted Band of the 1st U.S. Cavalry"; full page "Among the N.Y. Poor" and "Sketches at the N.Y. Virus Farm" includes 4 scenes. Full page with 4 photos of "Among the Calif. Redwoods" and "The Beach Patrol" (being a life-saving surfman patrolling the beach). Full page "The Lobby of the Palace Hotel, Cripple Creek" by W.A. Rogers.
