Great photos of the Cripple Creek, Colorado gold rush...

Item # 176092 ·

HARPER'S WEEKLY, New York, January 18, 1896  The prime content would be the very nice article: "In The Cripple Creek Gold-Fields" which takes over 3 pages of texted interspersed with 9 related prints & photos, plus the great doublepage centerfold which features a large: "Panoramic View of Battle Mountain, Showing the Independence & Portland Mines.", plus a nice photo of Cripple Creek as well. Rather rare, early prints of the gold mining area of Colorado.
Also within is a full page with 5 illustrations: "The Troubles in the Transvaal" (the Boer War) and a fullpg. with 6 photos of: "Scenes in British Guiana". The full front page is apolitical cartoon by W. A. Rogers: "Now William Puts His Foot In It." which relates to the Boer War as well.
Complete in 24 pages.
