A full page Thomas Nast illustration entitled 'The Modern Samson' shows a Black man as Samson.  A full page "The Earthquakes in South America - Scene in the Plaza of Arequipa, Peru, August 13, 1868". "The 'All-England Eleven' Cricketers and Their Umpire" is a one-third page illustration and "The International Cricket Match" has 6 additional play illustrations with the accompanying article.  Full page of 6 illustrations of: 'The Freedmen's Schools', for emancipated Blacks, with text as well.
