SUPPLEMENT TO THE GENTLEMAN'S MAGAZINE FOR THE YEAR 1742, London, England. This "Supplement" issue was published at the end of the year. Within this issue is a great article titled: "The Spanish Invasion of Georgia" which takes 5 pages, and includes a small map which shows the various islands off the coast of Georgia, including Jekyll Island and St. Simons Island. The map, from top to bottom, is just 1 1/4 inches. An extremely early view of these islands, and a great, detailed article.
Most of the issue is taken up with: "Debates in the Senate of Lilliput" which was nothing more than a report of the events of Parliament, offering a wonderful insight into the issues and discussions of concern in England at the time. Direct reporting on Parliamentary events was prohibited.
Contains 34 pages with a half title page, 5 1/4 by 8 inches, very nice condition.
