INDEPENDENT CHRONICLE, Boston, July 16, 1812  The front page has a full column with 2 Acts of Congress: "To Prohibit American Vessels from Proceeding to or Trading with enemies of the United States..." and: "An Act Supplementary to the Act entitled 'An Act Respecting Alien Enemies' ", each signed in type: James Madison. These Acts were President Madison's application of the 1798 "Alien Enemies Act" (as was prescribed in such) to the current situation.
Inside includes: "Privateering" "The Federal Assemblage" "Essex Junto vs. Washington" "Military Notices" and more.
Four pages, nice condition.
