NEW YORK MAGAZINE OR LITERARY REPOSITORY, July, 1795  Among the articles are: "Causes of the Insurrections in Massachusetts in 1786" which is very four pages on the Shays' Rebellion. Also: "Treaty of Amity, Commerce and Navigation between his Britannic Majesty and the United States of America...." which is the historic & controversial Jay Treaty. It takes ov er 16 pages with the full text of the treaty & is signed in type at its conclusion by Lord Grenville and John Jay. This is followed by an endorsing document signed in type by: Thomas Jefferson.
Near the back are the news reports of the day taking over two pages.
Certainly one of the less common 18th century American magazine titles, existing from just 1790 to 1797.
No plates are present. One of the back leaves has a portion clipped from the top quarter affecting only poetry.
Complete in 56 pages, lacking a full title/contents page, 5 by 8 inches, some binding remnants at the blank spine, good condition.
