A very early date from Florida and only the second issue of this title we have offered. Gregory notes only one institution has this issue.
Page 2 has a letter signed in type by: Samuel Colt, defending the quality of: "Colt's Patent Repeating Carbines"
Almost the entire front page is taken up with detailed reporting on the: "Case of The Brig Creole". This concerned a slave revolt aboard the Creole just four months prior during the U.S. slave trade, freeing 128 slaves aboard the ship when it reached British territory where slavery was outlawed in Nassau. It has been ranked as the "most successful slave revolt in US history".
Four pages, archivally rejoined at the spine, very nice, clean condition.
