THE DAILY TOMBSTONE, Arizona, November 21, '86 (1886)
* Gunfight at the O.K. Corral fame
* Rare advertisement of the famed livery stable
This may well be the consummate "Old West town" much romanticized in movies and television shows, perhaps most famous for the gunfight at the OK Corral involving Wyatt Earp and the Clanton gang. I would almost suggest that this title is more rare than the Epitaph as we have received far fewer issues of this title during the last 40 years.
To add to the attractiveness of this issue from Tombstone is a back page advertisement for the "O.K. Corral". Various other news and ads of the day including: "County Treasurer Ritter reports that taxes are coming in better than in any year during his administration." This was A.J. Ritter, who embalmed Frank & Tom McLaury and Billy Clanton following the gunfight at the OK. Corral. He also built the Tombstone Courthouse which stands to this day. Various other news tidbits and a wealth of ads, many of which are mining and "Old West" related.
Complete in 4 pages, archivally rejoined at the spine. There are many archival repairs throughout but causing no loss of readability, news agent's stamp in the masthead, close-trimmed at the spine affects only ads & legal notices on page 2.
