LOS ANGELES STAR, California, Feb. 22, 1862 Save for a damaged issue from 1861, this is the earliest Los Angeles newspaper we have offered, and from the Civil War no less. At this time the population of Los Angeles was less than 5,000.
The reports include: "General James Lane" "Latest Eastern Intelligence" which has much on the Civil War; "Report of Col. Haraszthy on the Vine Culture" & more.
Four pages, nice condition.
