An interesting article noting that the Circuit Superior Court in Virginia decreed that the: "...famous property known to the world as the Natural Bridge of Virginia..." would be offered for sale. Much detail.
At this time the Natural Bridge was quite the tourist attraction, a "must see" for visitors from Europe. It would eventually become a state park.
