The ftpg. has an editorial headed: "Vicksburg Outrage" which comments on the: "...official account of the hanging of five gamblers at Vicksburg, Miss...". This concerns the angry mob which decided to expel all professional gamblers from the town, based on a rumor that the gamblers were part of a planned plot to free slaves, known as the "Murrell Excitement" (much of it presumed to be fictitious). The gamblers resisted, and as a result, 5 gamblers were hanged by the mob. Also on the ftpg. is: "Insurrection in Mississippi" which mentions the plan: "...caused by a rumor that the slave population, headed by some whites, intended to raise en masse & murder the white population, rob the bank, etc..." which is followed by another article which has all the details (see). There is even more detail on this inside with nearly a full page of text headed: "The Vicksburg Tragedy".
Also inside is: "Abolition" concerning a meeting with slaveholders in New York.
Sixteen pages, never bound nor trimmed, 6 3/4 by 10 1/4 inches, various foxing (see), otherwise nice.
