This could be perhaps the most significant issue we have offered on the surrender of Lee to Grant at Appomattox. Outside of this report in an Appomattox newspaper (yet to see one, if one exists), having it in a newspaper from the nation's capital would seem to be the next best.
The headlines are stunning. In typical one column format (the style of the day) this newspaper used perhaps the largest type I have seen for such a presentation with: "PEACE !! " "SURRENDER of LEE ! " "And His WHOLE ARMY" "Grant's Terms Accepted" with more (see). The text which follows includes the various correspondences between U.S. Grant and Robert E. Lee during which the agreed to the terms of surrender.
The front page also has other war-related reports but they pale in comparison to the noted content. More on page 2 as well including an editorial on the surrender (see).
Complete in 4 pages, large folio size measuring 20 1/2 by 28 inches, various wear at the many folds with some holes (at fold junctures) and/or perforation along folds. Also loss at an indentation along the right margin of the front leaf affecting some text (see). Scattered foxing, mainly near the top or at folds.  This would be a $1900 newspaper in nice condition.
