THE TRUE DOMESTICK INTELLIGENCE, OR, NEWS BOTH FROM CITY & COUNTRY, London, Dec. 2, 1679 An uncommon title with front page news about the excitement generated by the early morning visit by the Duke of Monmouth. Another report says that the City Guards of London "...have taken up a custom every morning before they lodge their colours to salute [the] Mayor with two Volleys; and he out of his generosity presents them with Bottles of Wine in token of...their civility." A brief report says a person was seized in the Woolstaple at Westminster and jailed upon suspicion of being a Jesuit. A report on the reverse gives additional particulars about a terrible fire at Boston "...which consumed 230 houses near the Dock...and set Fire above 30 Ships & Barques; the loss is...chiefly amongst the Ware-houses." An untrimmed single sheet with a few stains close to the masthead, otherwise in very good condition. Last issue of this title in our inventory.
