On the front page under "Treaty Of Fond Du Lac" is a report concerning the presentation of medals to the Chippewa chiefs who signed the Treaty of Fond Du Lac. Listed in the report are the names of the chiefs and the English translations (of their names) who were awarded first class, second, class and third class medal. The report also describes the medals, and is signed in type: H. R. Schoolcraft. Nice to have on the front page.
