Inconspicuously found amongst a list of "Domestic" news items is a report: "The surrender of Sitting Bull to Major Brotherton at Fort Buford on the 20th inst., is confirmed by a dispatch from Gen. Terry to Gen. Sherman." There is also a report on a lawsuit by Thomas Edison & others (see photos).
Four pages, never bound nor trimmed, great condition.

Page 2 has two columns entirely taken up with a nice, graphic advertisement for a circus, being the: "Great Eastern Menagerie - A Towering Giant Among Its Fellows - The Great 12 Center-Pole Tent - Dual Circus Exhibition!" with more on the double circus coming to Bethlehem. There are four rather large illustrations of some of the acts (see).

Page 2 has a very brief item headed: "Death of Andrew Johnson" which is datelined "July 31" & reads: "Ex-President Andrew Johnson died very suddenly at Chattanooga, Tenn., at 2:30 o'clock this morning of paralysis." This is immediately followed by a lengthier report headed: "Obituary - Andrew Johnson" which takes over half a column (see).
This is a same day report, rarely found as such.…
