THE PHOENIX GAZETTE, Arizona, Sept. 2, 1964  The bottom of the front page has the 4-column head: "War Hero Alvin York Dies" with 2 photos of him.
Sergeant York was one of the most decorated soldiers of World War I. He received the Medal of Honor for leading an attack on a German machine gun nest, taking at least one machine gun, killing at least 25 enemy soldiers and capturing 132.

MANCHESTER REPRESENTATIVE, Manchester, N.H., Sept. 2, 1842 On pg. 2 under "A Treaty" is the text of the Webster-Ashburton Treaty, signed in type: Ashburton & Daniel Webster. Treaty settled various disputes between the U.S. and Great Britain, including the northeastern boundary with Canada. Three areas of lite to moderate foxing, with a bit in the text of the treaty.
