1990 opening day premiere of "The Adventures of Ford Fairlane" film L.A. advertisement...

Item # 729677 ·
LOS ANGELES TIMES, July 8, 1990 (an original vintage newspaper leaf from the Calendar section)  This offering consists of four complete pages (two double-sided sheets on one single leaf), serving as a rare piece of cinematic ephemera, highlighted by an original vintage print advertisement announcing the opening day release of  "THE ADVENTURES OF FORD FAIRLANE" starring Andrew Dice Clay on one of the pages. (see images).

In addition to the featured movie ad, which captures the era's distinct theatrical promotional graphics and classic key art, the surrounding pages provide a fascinating snapshot of late 20th-century entertainment and pop culture. Printed on authentic newsprint with genuine vintage toning, this original leaf is not a modern reprint, making it an ideal piece for custom framing, film history display, or inclusion in a dedicated cinema memorabilia collection.

Own a rare slice of cinema history straight from the home of the entertainment industry.

Background: Despite opening as a high-profile vehicle for stand-up comic Andrew "Dice" Clay at the height of his "Dice Man" popularity, the 1990 action-comedy film noir The Adventures of Ford Fairlane became a notorious critical and commercial flop, famously sweeping the Golden Raspberry Awards with a Worst Picture win. Yet, the film's pop-culture footprint lies in its distinct status as a time capsule of late-1980s and early-1990s music industry excess, filled with rare structural elements and unusual media history. Set around the search for a missing groupie and encoded bootleg data CDs, the movie packed in an extraordinary slate of musician cameos—including Sheila E., Tone Lōc, Morris Day, and Mötley Crüe's Vince Neil—alongside an official soundtrack that became a prized item for music collectors. The album features Billy Idol's massive smash hit "Cradle of Love", but its true rarity lies in its exclusive physical tracks: it became the only place for years to find Mötley Crüe's Dr. Feelgood-era outtake "Rock 'N' Roll Junkie" and Queensrÿche's non-album track "Last Time in Paris", as well as Richie Sambora's scarce, pre-Stranger in This Town solo cover of Jimi Hendrix's "The Wind Cries Mary". Because the official album quickly went out of print in the mid-1990s without a subsequent digital reissue, the original soundtrack and its physical media stand out today as rare collectors' items that outlived the film's box-office demise.
